Dr. Michael A. Mahlon and Family Endowed Scholarship

Dr. Michael A. Mahlon LTC MC (Lieutenant Colonel Medical Corps) graduated from Freedom High School (1990) Bethlehem, PA and attended the Radiologic Technology program at Northampton Community College from 1990 to 1992. Continuing his education, he received his baccalaureate degree from Penn State University, State College, PA and medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. In order to pay for his medical school tuition, and to serve his country, he enlisted in the US Army. He completed his internship, and Radiology Residency, at Tripler Army Medical Center, Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging at Penn State Hershey, and served 14 years on active duty stationed in Germany and Washington, and deployed to Afghanistan 2013-2014. Dr. Mahlon continues to serve his country and supports the education of Radiologic Technology students, and physicians, in the Radiology Residency Program at Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, WA.

This scholarship was established to support Radiography majors with a 3.0 GPA. Preference given to second year students in program with financial need. Additional consideration given to those who strive for continuing education following graduation, and those who currently serve, or have previously served, in the US military.
