Rebecca Lentz Gorton Scholarship Endowment

Rebecca Lentz Gorton devoted her entire professional career to the education of young children. Thirty one of those years were spent at Northampton Community College in the growth and development of the early childhood and education departments, including a 12-year stint as director of the early childhood programs. During her tenure at NCC she gained a national reputation as a leader and advocate of early childhood education. Her programs were consistently cited as cutting edge and among the best in the country and her students lauded as being well prepared to enter the profession. She retired in 2011. This scholarship was founded to provide financial support for students seeking to enter the teaching profession at the early childhood education level.
