Leonard and Carol Lavenda Endowed Scholarship

Leonard and Carol are longtime residents of Monroe County and strong supporters of the local community and the college. Before his retirement, Leonard was the VP of Communications at Sanofi Pasteur, the world’s largest producer of vaccines, in Swiftwater, PA. Carol is a Physical Therapist and worked for the Visiting Nurse Association of Monroe County. Leonard and Carol’s background influenced their decision to create a scholarship in 2015 to support students majoring in public health. Creating this scholarship was their way of giving back to the community where they live and work. This scholarship was established to assist Monroe County students in the Public Health program at NCC.
